Information units

As we saw in class, the smallest unit is the bit (b). 8 b = 1 byte (B).

Multipliers:
1 024 B = 1 kB
1 024 kB = 1 MB
1 024 MB = 1 GB
1 024 GB =  1 TB

(for quick calculations we can use 1 000 instead of 1 024)

Solve the following problem:
Calculate the time (in hours) that will take to download a 7.2 GB file if we are using a line with a 8 Mbps speed. Simplify the calculations using 1 000 as multiplier.
Important: write all the operations needed to get the final result.
